First Steps
This section will guide you through the first steps with your new device. The Landitec Proxmox appliance is preloaded with Proxmox VE and has a default configuration, which normally does not match your requirements. Please follow the next steps to get your appliance working.
Startup and Login
Before you turn on the system, you must first connect a PC using the serial cable and start a terminal appliaction for serial communication. Now connect the power cable to the power socket and switch on the appliance. Wait until you can see the login prompt on the screen.
Now you can login into the Proxmox VE system using the following credentials:

You can change the default password in the Proxmox VE WebUI later.
Reconfiguration
To connect the appliance to your network it needs a proper network configuration, which depends on your local network. Also a hostname and an E-Mail address should be set. To do this in an easy manner you can use the Landitec GmbH reconfiguration tool, which is already installed. To start the tool just type the following command: pxreconf. Now you can change the default settings and reconfigure your appliance (For a more detailed description of the pxreconf tool please refer to Proxmox reconfiguration).
Proxmox VE WebUI
After reconfiguration (the appliance will reboot twice for this) the appliance must be connected to your network using network port 1. Now you should be able to open the Proxmox VE WebUI in your browser by opening the URL (please use the IP address or if available in DNS the hostname you have configured in the pxreconf tool):
Since the WebUI uses a self-signed ceritficate, you must accept it before you can enter the WebUI. Please refer to the Proxmox documentation how to change it.
Login into the WebUI with the same credentials as above.
Next steps
Your Landitec Proxmox appliance is now ready to use. Next you must change the root password and configure Proxmox VE according to your needs.
